Showcase Sunday is hosted by the lovely Vicky over at Books, Biscuits, and Tea! It's a great way to share what you have received the past week and to also gush over the wonderful books to other bloggers have added to their bookshelves!
Bev's New Books:
Have you guys missed me? I've been away for a little while, partly because school has been so busy and partly because I've been in a bit of a reading slump so I haven't really been in the mood to do any blogging. But Jen has been amazing and I bet you've all been loving her recent reviews! Well, anyways here are the books I received (Netgalley is just so tempting):
For Review:
Eight Keys by Suzanne LaFleur: I absolutely adored Suzanne's Love, Aubrey so I'm super excited to delve into her next offering! If it's as heartbreaking and sensitive as Love, Aubrey, I'm sure I will love it :) Thank you to Suzanne for the pretty, SIGNED copy!
For Review (Netgalley):
Sam Cruz's Infallible Guide to Getting Girls by Tellulah Darling: This sounds like such a fun, quirky read and I'm really intrigued by its synopsis! And part of it is told from the guy's point of view and you all know I'm a sucker for male POVs ;) Thank you to Te Da Media and Netgalley!
What I Didn't Say by Keary Taylor: I remember reading a review on The Readers Den a while back on this book and was immediately curious. And then I saw it on Netgalley and just couldn't resist requesting it! Thanks to Keary Taylor and Netgalley
Jen's New Books:
School's been so stressful lately, but I'm halfway through my school semester, and I have ALL A's! *pats own back* YAY. I can kind of feel myself getting into a reading slump, but Thanksgiving's rolling around soon and that's perfect reading time. I couldn't resist, and requested some more books on Netgalley as well. :O

Insignia by S.J. Kincaid
Rua by Miranda Kavi
Brightest Kind of Darkness by P.T. Michelle
Collide by Shelly Crane
The Ivy by Lauren Kunze and Rina Onur

enjoy all . 8 keys sounds lovely
ReplyDeleteI just picked up Where She Went and I haven't read it yet but I hope to soon :)
ReplyDeleteMy IMM
LOVED Where She Went. Such an awesome book.
ReplyDeleteBev, I totally understand about the whole busy thing combined with the reading slump. Usually, school puts me into a reading slump, so even when I have time, I go on the Internet instead of reading. :/ But hopefully you'll get out of your slump soon! I haven't heard of Eight Keys before, but it sounds seriously fantastic, as does Love, Aubrey. I'll have to check both out!
ReplyDeleteJen, YAY for all As!! I have all As as well, and with 2 AP classes and 3 Pre-AP classes, I consider this an incredible feat. Although, I know you dance, so I can't imagine how hard it must be to have such fantastic grades AND dance AND blog. I am in awe of you! I feel like my blog has been suffering lately because of school, and this makes me sad. :/ I envy you and the balance you seem to finding! But anyways, girl, you got such amazing books this week! I have a copy of Insignia that I won a while ago that has been sitting on my shelves for such a long time. It's actually on my Thanksgiving Break TBR list (yes, I totally made a TBR list for Thanksgiving Break! ;)). The Lightenting Thief, and Percy Jackson in general is like my life's obsession- no joke. Rick Riordan hands down is like my favorite author (along with Veronica Roth, of course!). I love the Percy Jackson Series and HoO series way too much, I'm sure it's not healthy, but that's totally ok. ;) I've also read Seraphina, and while it wasn't my favorite book in the world, I enjoyed it, so I will definitely keep an eye out for your review to see what you think! And I can't believe A Shimmer of Angels is on NetGalley!! I haven't visited that site for a while... I think I'll be doing a requesting spree sometime soon...
Fabulous haul you two! Enjoy all those pretties. <3
Oh dang, that sounded so much shorter in my head. =P
DeleteOh wow! Pretty freaking awesome hauls you both got! Haven't read a lot of them, but they look amazing!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the signed copy and Happy Reading!

I understand, Bev! School this year has been crazy for me as well. Sometimes I hope I could multiply myself so I can have time to read, write blog, and study in the same time LOL! x) I missed talking to you guys so much. >.<
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Eight Keys sounds wonderful! I have Love, Aubrey in my bookshelf and I need to find time to read it. :) What I Didn't Say seems like a good heart-wrenching story! <3
Jen, I know a lot of people who really enjoyed Sloppy Firsts, so I hope you like it too! Where She Went is AMAAAZING. I just am unable to explain the awesomeness. :') Dance of Shadows - SQUEEEE! <3 x)
Happy reading, lovelies! :)

NetGalley really is tempting, no? I need to be given a restraining order or something. ;) You both have some fantastic books there! I've been seeing Sea of Tranquillity all over today and it sounds fantastic so I just put a request in for it. Eight Keys is a new book for me so I will head over to Goodreads now and investigate! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, Net Galley is SO tempting! Eight Keys looks good, I have Love Aubrey on my TBR pile. And signed?! Lucky! I am also eager to read What I Didn't Say and Where She Went. The Lightening Thief is great, I love Percy Jackson. I also received Dance of Shadows for review a few weeks ago too, isn't the cover gorgeous? Happy reading guys, I hope school is not too stressful (congrats on all your As, Jen!) :) xx
ReplyDeleteSloppy Firsts, Seraphina, Where She Went, and The Lightening Thief are all SO good! In fact, they're ALL on my favorites shelf I think, so you're in for a HUGE dose of awesome! ;) Enjoy! :D
ReplyDeleteYay! What I Didn't Say was a favorite of mine, (thanks for the mention) so I hope you enjoy it, too, Bev. I look forward to your thoughts. Eight Keys is something I've never heard of, but the cover is beautiful and I love heartbreaking and sensitive reads. I'll have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteJen, You got so many lovelies, too. I loved Where She Went more than If I Stay, so I hope you like it as well. I've seen Sea of Tranquility all over GR and had someone recommend it to me as well. I just requested it on Netgalley too, so I hope we like it.
Enjoy your reads ladies! :)
