Apologies for the rather grave title of this post but I thought I'd let you, my wonderful readers, get a quick run-down of what is going to happen with this little blog.
Firstly, I have some sad news to announce. Jen has left A Reading Daydreamer to pursue a solo venture in blogging. During my hiatus, she rediscovered her love for blogging alone and she has made the decision to start her own. I am only sad that we didn't make it to the one-year mark but time called for a change. I could not have asked for a better co-blogger and she will be sorely missed but I wish her luck in running her own blog - I'm sure it will be utterly fantastic!
With this sudden change, it has left me to think about the future, hence this post. I initially thought summer would mean more time but I have weeks of work experience to do and I'll be preparing uni applications so I've decided I'm going to take it easy, maybe even just stop blogging (although I hope it doesn't come to this). I hope you'll stick around but I can't promise to be a wonderful blogger with new posts for you to read every few days.
The departure of Jen also opens up a co-blogging space. I'm still yet to decide whether I want to commit to taking on another co-blogger. I'm just going to see how it goes but I'll be keeping an open mind so if anyone has any interest please feel free to shoot me an email introducing yourself, I'd be delighted to hear from you.
Finally, I'm going to be away for a school trip next week which explains why the blog will be quiet and you won't be finding me on Twitter but don't worry, I haven't disappeared forever!
Before I go, thank you so much for all your support over the past year and a half. I seriously adore the book blogging community and I have enjoyed every single minute of being part of it.

I hope you don't stop blogging altogether, Beverley! I definitely understand taking it easy--that's what I've been doing. :) It definitely lessens the pressure and everything. It's your blog, so you should definitely post whenever you feel like! But if that does mean not posting at all, I can understand that too. Either way, good luck, Bev! <3 :)
ReplyDeleteBEV! NO NO NO NO you can't stop blogging forever! You should take a break over the Summer, because it sounds like it's going to be really hectic, but I'm NOT allowing you to stop blogging forever, seriously. Without you, the blogosphere just wouldn't be the same! What would everyone do without your lovely, enthusiastic reviews and tweets and comments?! I completely understand where you're coming from though, my Summer isn't really going to be like a Summer.... I have loads of coursework to catch up on for Grade 10, and I'm actually planning on taking a part-time job at a bookstore! >.< As much as I hate to say it, if you really think that stopping blogging is the way for you, then I will completely (slightly begrudgingly) support you. But think of all the people and readers you've accumulated over the years- they'd miss you and your posts so much! Aaah I'm going to go before I start sobbing. <3 But I love you Bev, and please don't stop blogging forever!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't quit blogging, Bev, but I understand if you do. It's a lot of work and you have a lot of other important commitments at the moment. I hope you figure something out, dear!(:
ReplyDeleteAW JEN! I'm sad to see her go but at least that she is still blogging. I hope you don't give up blogging permanently, Beverley! I would miss you SO SO SO much! I understand how busy life can be though. Whatever decision you choose, I'll support it! But, if you give up blogging.. you better still stay on Twitter/email :P
ReplyDeleteHow are your exams going? Mine have finished so I'm back from my blogging break. Yay! :)
I can understand why you might want to quit, Beverly but there's nothing wrong with just posting whenever you can. We'll be around whenever you decide to entertain us! :)
ReplyDeleteAwwww, I hope you don't stop blogging! I quit blogging at one time but it wasn't long before I came back - I was missing it so much! Just like Rachel says, there's nothing wrong with just posting when you've got the free time.

Bev, you definitely shouldn't quit! Life can be busy, but because reading and blogging is something you love, you shouldn't give it up. Blog and read for YOU, as an escape from the real world. Even if that means only one post every few weeks, it doesn't matter! We will all always be here to cheer you on. <3 Just blog as much as you can- there's absolutely no pressure if your blog is on the back-burner, especially because it seems like you're doing some big and exciting things!
ReplyDeleteHave fun on your school trip, Bev!! <3

Don't quit! We'll wait for you so no worries. Life gets busy so blogging takes a break. I hope you find new ways to be encouraged and motivated with this change. Have fun this summer, be safe and happy reading!
ReplyDeleteaww...Good Luck to Jen with your new blog!
ReplyDeleteAnd, Bev, whatever you do I'll still love you!!! I really hope you don't give up blogging! I've actually been feeling quite stressed recently, so I've been quite absent from the blogosphere lately, but I think taking a step back helps sometimes, and I'm looking forward to returning to blogging when I feel ready. Which will hopefully be really soon! So take it easy, and have fun on your trip!! :D :D
Oh Bev, I can totally understand how you might think you want to stop blogging (It crossed my mind a couple of times too) I have been busy for almost half a year and haven't been a really good blogger (imagine only 20 posts in 6 months? ) Ha. I'm trying to do some catching up and hopefully I could be a better blogger this next half of the year. I hope everything goes well with you. Have fun in your school trip! :)
ReplyDeleteI really hope that you manage to sort something out that is best for you! I'd love if you continued to blog, but do what's best for you!
ReplyDeleteI completely understand how a difficult time this is for right now Beverley. I find it hard squeezing blogging in around work, so can see how you're feeling. I hope taking a little break will help you work out what the best plan for you will be!
ReplyDeleteI really hope you don't quit blogging-or at least, if you do, you stick around the internet! Good luck Jen with your blog :) Taking a break from blogging is really relaxing, and remember that it's just a hobby, not a mortal obligation. Lateness and fitting it round the rest of your life is fine. Enjoy the trip and hope to see you around sometime :)
ReplyDeleteLike everybody else, I seriously hope you manage to continue blogging! :(
