Follow Friday is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. It's where you meet other book bloggers and share the follower love. A question is also asked every week.
To join the fun and make new book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:
1. (Required) Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts {Parajunkee & Alison Can Read}
2. (Required) Follow our Featured Bloggers
3. Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.
4. Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say "hi" in your comments and that they are now following you.
5. If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn't have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed.
6. Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don't just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don't say "HI"
7. If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love...and the followers!
Q: This Sunday in the U.S. is Mother's Day. In celebration, what are some of your favorite books with strong mother/child relationships?
A: This is a hard one... but I'm going to have to say My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. I loved the book and it just portrayed the relationship between a mother and her two daughters so beautifully. Even though she did seem to neglect her son Jesse, you could tell the immense love she had for Kate, her middle child who was diagnosed with leukaemia. I did feel sorry for Anna though because she had to continually give blood and organs to her sister, but it was clear that her mum made her do all this out of love for her other child.
How about you? Let me know in the comments and please follow me through GFC or Linky Followers if you wish to do so!
And Happy Mother's Day to all mothers, regardless of whether they live in the US or not!
Happy reading,
Beverley x

All this talk about gorgeous mother-daughter relationships makes me want to run and give my own mom a big hug! x) I've actually never read a Jodi Picoult book before (although I'm going to read her newest YA one soon), but you make me want to pick up My Sister's Keeper ASAP! I think it's a movie too, and I always love to read the books before I watch the movies! ;)
ReplyDeleteReally awesome answer this week, Beverley! I hope you have a beautiful Mother's Day weekend! :) <3
I really need to read this book!! I read the screenplay at work a few years ago and I was bawling at my desk!!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah this one was rather hard to answer this week! Can't believe how many moms are kinda absent in the books I read!

I still haven't read that book. I have a thing about reading books that I know will make me bawl my eyes out, haha.
ReplyDeleteAnd I completely agree, sometimes getting lost in a good book is necessary! Maybe we all just secretly like watching someone else struggle for a change!
New follower:) And thanks for stopping by the Diaries!
