I hadn't actually advertised that I was looking for one because I still had loads of reservations and worries but the night after that post on co-blogging went live, I got a DM on Twitter from a certain blogger who asked if she could join ARD. I was both surprised and flattered: someone wanted to give up their blog to join mine? We exchanged emails but I still wasn't entirely sure if co-blogging was what I wanted. A few days and emails later, I just knew I couldn't turn down her offer! And the rest is history :D
We've been emailing each other everyday like crazy ever since and I feel like I've known her for months! Obviously we have our love for reading and blogging in common, but we also both do ballet, we're the same age and we're both Chinese (Asians FTW!) Plus we've been getting on really well so far - when we're not arguing over Tom Daley, of course ;)
'Put us out of our misery and tell us who she is!' I hear you say.
Okay guys, *drumroll* meet...

'Hey everyone! I'm SO incredibly excited to jump into this awesome blog and become a part of it. I think that this will be an amazing experience being able to work with Beverley and interacting with readers from the UK! I am very honored to be Beverley's new co-blogger, and I hope you all enjoy the exciting upcoming posts and reviews!A little bit about me: I'm a highschool girl (in the US!) and a very passionate dancer and reader. I'm Chinese (like Beverley!!) and I have an obsession with Tom Daley after watching the Olympics. I love nail polish, glitter, and all things pink and girly. :)'
So now you've met Jen (former blogger at The Dancing Reader), I hope you'll all give her a warm welcome and treat her with the same kindness and friendliness you have shown me!
I adore her reviews: they're fresh and sweet and I can't wait for you to read them! I'm so happy to have found someone who I feel I can work with and I hope we both enjoy this experience and learn from each other.
And we'd also like to ask you this: what format would you like to see joint reviews in? We're both very excited about the prospect of reviewing the same book together but we don't want to tire or bore you with two reviews put into one long post so we're looking for different ideas to keep you interested as well as hearing two opinions. Suggestions will be greatly appreciated :)
That's it from me today. I feel like a new chapter has opened; an important day of A Reading Daydreamer's 'history'. It's the start of something exciting and I hope you will join us on our journey. By working together, this blog will hopefully become bigger and better!
Thank you all for your support,
Beverley x
P.S. We're also planning something exciting for next year, so watch this space!
P.S. We're also planning something exciting for next year, so watch this space!
Oooh, this is so exciting!!! Hi Jen, it's great to meet you *waves*
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what format you should do reviews in - maybe two little separate ones on the same post? I can't wait to see her adaption to the blog, and all the cool things you guys have in store for us! :D
Good luck with all your exams and everything, Beverley! You'll do great! I considered taking co-blogging, but I really prefer owning a blog myself. So, congrats, Beverley for doing this! :D :D xxx
Ooooh FINALLY!! Yay Jen seems great! Hi Jen! *starts waving but then changes her mind and goes for a tackle hug* Bev, I totally approve of your choice for a co-blogger! Jen seems so nice and sweet and bubbly, and YES Asian. (Might I remind you that I too, am virtually Asian?? Eileen said I could be!! Even though I have American and Italian ancestry running through my veins but WHO CARES, right??) :P
ReplyDeleteWELL Umm... I really like Zoe's idea, maybe you could each write a paragraph each on the same book or something? OR You guys could just review different books? Anything's fine, and I'm sure you guys'll come with with a brill solution. Well I can't wait to read some of your posts, guys! This is SO exciting! Oh and nice to meet you Jen!!!!! <333 Bev is one of my bffs and I really hope that you and I can be friends too. :')
Woohoo!! Congratulations, Jen and Bev! You two sound like the perfect partners to run an amazing blog together :D I'm sooo excited to see what you have in store for us!
ReplyDeleteFor joint reviews, I'm not sure... Maybe you could each take on different aspects of the book, like characters, or plot, and individually comment on that, and then both do an overall verdict? Not sure how well that would work out though...?
Wow, Bev, you go back to school really early! Good luck with everything this year, though!
And... Fellow Chinese person right here, guys! ( just felt like I had to join in the Asian party going on here ;) )
Wwws this is all SO EXCITING! I'm so happy for you guys :D :D :D xxx
Yayyyyy! Hi, Jen! I'll look forward to reading your posts.(:
ReplyDeleteThe only way I can think of formatting your reviews is Zoe's way, writing a paragraph or so each? Or, as Riya said, reviewing different books? I'm sure you'll work it out!
This is my year of exams too, Beverley. ): But I think I *might* just be able to manage blogging, too. We'll see... Co-blogging sounds like a great idea. I think I prefer writing The Beaucoup Review alone, only because I'm so unorganised that taking on a co-blogger would force me to be much more organised!
Oh, and Jen, of course, who doesn't love Tom Daley?! ;) xxx
ReplyDeleteYay congratulations Beverley on your new co-blogger! I think both of you will do a fantastic job, you guys already seem to have so much in common! Can't wait to see what you guys will come up with! :D
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new co-blogger! *waves at computer screen*. Zoe's idea sounds good and so does ''The Teen Book Guru's'' you could both just decide which books you would like to review each?
ReplyDeleteTom Daley!!<33 He's cute AND British..what's not to love?! And Wow there seems to be so many Asian bloggers around...I'm one too! Hehe ;) Can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve(s)! :DD
Tom Daley <3 ;)
ReplyDeleteCongrats Jen and Beverley! Looking forward to seeing all your reviews and the exciting thing next year! Good luck in your exams too Beverley :D
Congrats Jen and Beverly! I'm sure this will help both of you with time. I can't wait to see what you two come up with together! :)
ReplyDeleteYay! Congratulations, Jen and Beverly! Yes, Asians FTW! And Tom Daley? Count me in. Although I feel a bit too old for him, but I'm only a year older than him! ...And 7 more months. Yeah, definitely old. LOL! Looking forward reading joint reviews from both of you. That would be really fun. Good luck with all the school stuff too. :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome Jen :)
ReplyDeleteI'm really glad you both found a solution that works for you :) Exciting things.
OMG JEN I'M AN ASIAN TOO! IN THE US! Dude we SO need a Chinese blog to rampage the world with ;) I can't wait to read your reviews! *runs away to Twitter-stalk Jen* Welcome to the family of crazy people! ;) But Beverley is totally awesome! <3 I hope you guys really hit it off!
ReplyDeleteI have looked on her blog and I think this will turn out as a great success! I wish you two good luck and I can't wait to read both of your reviews ^^
ReplyDeleteCongrat, Beverley and Jen! Beverley, a co-blogger really should take some pressure off so you'll have more time for school, and Jen, I guess we'll be seeing each other around often, which is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI love this blog and I can't wait to see it taking a new direction.
As for reviewing together, I love how Jasprit and Rachel over at The Readers Den handle it.
Yay! Welcome, Jen! I hope you both have a great time together blogging. Hopefully this will take a little of the pressure of your shoulders, Beverley. :D
ReplyDeleteHI JEN!!!! *WAVES HAND IN YOUR FACE*
ReplyDeleteSuch a fantastic way for you both to still continue doing something you love (reading and blogging!), but have the time to focus on your studies. I hope you both have a FABULOUS bloggy partnership together <3 I love reading joint reviews! Doesn't matter HOW they're written, I just find them a cool to read.
Oooh and you're planning something exciting for new year? TEASE. I can't wait to see what it is :D
Welcome, Jen! <3 Awwwww, it's so awesome that you found someone who can co-blog with you, Beverley! You guys sound like two adorable peas in a pod <3 And haha, Chinese FTW XD
ReplyDeleteJen! YAY! So siked for you two to start blogging together!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd, I think if you're going to do joint reviews to try writing two smaller ones. Or, maybe try intertwining the reviews. Like, Jen might hvae one opinion, but Beverley might have another one. So, you could talk about why you disagree or agree. Maybe?? I'm not sure. Just throwing out ideas!
Have fun co-blogging you guys!!
Hi Jen *waves* It's so nice to meet you and I hope you guys have a blast blogging together :D it's such an awesome solution, since both of you are equally busy. As for the joint reviews, 2 small reviews sounds good or maybe as a conversation between you guys... Like you're discussing the book or something?
ReplyDeleteThis is so wonderful! I've been an avid reader of Jen's blog ever since I found her on Twitter, so it's great that you two are joining forces! You both actually seem like the perfect match for each other. =)
ReplyDeleteAs for a joint review, you both could do more of a mini review, so it doesn't get too long. Joint reviews are always so much fun to read!!
I'm excited to see what you two have in store!!
So glad you found a co-blogger!! :) super congrats!
ReplyDeleteHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII JENNN! OMG YOU'RE CHINESE?!?! hehehee MEEEE TOOOO! :)
ReplyDeleteOhh and I just realised, you've been commenting on my posts lately..SO SORRY I HAVEN'T REPLIED!!! But YAYYYY! You and Bev will be co-blogging :) Can't wait for your posts Jen!!!<3
P.S So we have British-Chinese, Australian-Chinese and American-Chinese bloggers :D heheeeee Asians FTW!!!
Congrats on finding a co-blogger!

Aimee <3!
I think co-blogging is a perfect way to do it when you're still in school. Or even those who just don't have enough time to post regularly on your own. So with two people doing it then the posts are more regular. Plus it's two people to promote the blog as well!
ReplyDeleteSQUEALLLL!! Hey there, Jen! <3 *waves like crazy* *get are-you-crazy stares from my sister* *ignoring her and still waving* OH MY GOSH, I'm so excited that you joined Beverley's blog! I can't wait to read your reviews! I'm absolutely sure that your reviews would be just as awesome as Bev described: fresh and sweet! <3 Mmm, for some reasons I'm thinking of strawberry now LOL!
ReplyDeleteYEAH! ASIAN FTW!! x)
HEEEEEY JEN!!! :D I am SO happy that you guys found each other... You sound like a perfect fit! :') And I just went over to Jen's old blog and read her goodbye post - how awesome that you'll both be able to focus on school (my final year too, yikesssss) AND blogging. This way we won't be losing either of you to school! *cheers* I absolutely CANNOT wait to see some of your collabs in action, I'm sure they'll be spectacular.
ReplyDeleteWELCOME TO ARD, JEN!!!! *[late] confetti*
