Showcase Sunday #11

Showcase Sunday is hosted by the lovely Vicky over at Books, Biscuits, and Tea! It's a great way to share what you have received the past week and to also gush over the wonderful books to other bloggers have added to their bookshelves!

Bev's New Books:

For review

Ferryman by Claire McFall: This is by a Scottish author and it sounds like a really complex, intriguing story.  It deals with life after death and I can't wait to start it.  Thank you, Templar Publishing!

For review via Netgalley

Crow Girl by Kate Cann:  This is a book which tries to encourage people who don't like reading to pick up a book so I've been warned the writing will be of a lower standard.  I'm still intrigued as to how this will be dealt with.

  5. Ah, I'm so jealous of the two weeks break, Jen! ;) Oh well, it seems like the best thing to do is to stock up books early, just like what you did! ;) I can't wait to hear what you think of Flawed, I sort of have mixed feeling about that book. Everyone seems to love Shadow and Bone, hope you'll like it as well! I can't wait to read your reviews of other books as well! <3

I like the title of Crow Girl, I hope you'll enjoy it, Bev! Ferryman sounds very strange, but I'm curious about the life after death thing. :)

  11. Um ladies I always extremely look forward to your book hauls and yet again this is an epic one! I think I should give Crow Girl to my sister as I have to force books on her all the time! Jen your book haul this week reminded me of my haul last week, I think I went a bit overboard with library books too! I love how you had a splurge with Colasanti's books, I read Keep Holding On and loved it, so really need to get to her others. Also yay for Flawed, I LOVED that book it's a book which will stay with you days afterwards! Hope you both enjoy your books! :)

  12. Great books! Crow Girl looks interesting, despite it apparently having a lower standard of writing. I guess that it is refreshing to read something light once in a while! Happy reading, Beverley! :)

Wow, Jen, so many amazing books! I am dying to read Wake and Tiger Lily, they sound like such good stories. Article 5 looks good too, hurrah for dystopian! :D My sister has The Land of Stories... I might borrow it from her soon...

Enjoy your books, both of you <3

  13. I read a Kate Cann book years ago, but I can't remember what the writing was like. Ooh and I'm super pleased to see Shadow and Bone there. It is one of my absolute favourite books of the year. I am literally counting down the days to the sequel. ;) Ferryman is new to me so I must go and investigate!

    Enjoy!

  14. Bev I love the cover on Crow Girl, I'll be interested to hear what you think of it.

Oh my lord, Jen! I think you did get a little bit crazy with the books, lol! You won't have time to eat, drink, or sleep with all those reads. I hope you enjoy Charade. As you know I did. I want to read Article 5 too, and I guess the sequel should be out soon, so no having to try and recall details from a book you read a year ago. Yay!

Enjoy all your reads, ladies. :)

You will likely push me over the edge if you love it, Jen ;) SHADOW AND BONE. READ IT NOW, READ IT NOOOOW. And don't tell me by the end of the book that you aren't at least a TINY bit torn between Mal and The Darkling :D

Whoa, and I just read the summary for Ferryman. How have I never heard of this before? SUPER INTRIGUED.

I hope you ladies enjoy your fabulous new books!
