332 pages, Kindle Edition

You all know that New Adult is a genre that I tend to get immersed in. It's addicting, it usually involves a hot guy, and some type of issue that the girl went through in the past. Wait For You isn't far off from that; however, the story is able to deem itself as memorable and beautiful. For fans of New Adult, Wait For You is a must.

There are definitely a few flaws that I need to point out before I praise this novel. First: there are so many conventional errors and typos! Now, this doesn't detract my enjoyment for this novel, but it's one of those things that are just annoyances. The other quality that irked me is the plot pacing. The problem isn't resolved until the very end of the story. Now, I like how the story was stretched in the middle section because it proves to be a strong character development area, but things are settled too quickly in the end. It would have been perfect if the book was longer or something.

Other than that, Wait For You is a spectacular novel with very endearing and relate-able characters, which is what stood out for me the most. Avery, the scarred, shut-out character, starts out to be a timid character, but also proves to be a bit snarky. Her voice is like-able, instantly from page one. As of her growth in character, it was slow, but sure. I felt at times that she should've been stronger and braver, but by the end, she showed the readers just that.

The real star in this novel is Cam Hamilton. Yes, he's the love interest. Yes, he's a hottie. But his amazingness doesn't end there. He proves to be compassionate, loving, and most importantly, patient. His patience that he gives to Avery is unbelievable, even after her confession, and the amount of time that took her to trust him. His brutal honesty, persistence, and sassy characteristic were also traits that I love about him. All of this wraps up to a nice bundle of boy perfection. His darn good looks are a plus, of course. ;)

To conclude, Wait For You is a novel that is heart-melting with the love the reader feels between the characters. Although this novel had a few minor errors here in there, Wait For You is still an above-average New Adult story that I can't help but fall in love with.

4 teacups for Wait For You!

  1. I have trouble with New Adult novels because I find some to be too graphic and I prefer when its more glazed by for sexual situations. Did you feel this was graphic or not? It sounds interesting, but I want to be safe so I don't end up returning another new adult novel.

  2. LOOOOVE Cam he was absolutely fantastic!! And .. even though I usually do not see errors (being german has its advanatges) here even I saw common errors. Anyway, she got picked up by Harper and I'm sure they will run and editorial check :)

  4. It's terrible that this has typos - can't believe they weren't caught!

I think this is one I'll pass on, despite so much praise for this author.

  5. Moo for typos! Moo. I have some serious OCD going on like most of the time so I would definitely freak out at the typos lol. I'm not really a fan of any of Jennifer L. Armentrout's writing, so I may skip this one but I'm glad Cam and Avery were great characters.

Fantastic review Jen! I'm glad you liked this one :)

  6. Bummer on the abundance of typos, that's definitely something that can be frustrating in a book I've bought and paid for. Aside from that though, this sounds amazing, and as I'm a fan of both the NA genre and Jennifer Armentrout in particular, I have no doubt I'll love this one. I can't wait to meet Cam Jen! I have a feeling he might rocket to the top of the book boyfriend list ;-)

  7. I can probably deal with minor flaws, but I'm glad you pointed them out! I downloaded this one for my Nook as soon as it became available, because I LOVE all of JLA's other books so much. Hoping I love this one, and Cam the way you did!

  8. I find that Lynn's adult novels are always such great time-passing books, but I forget them later, so I doubt I'll actually read this. Still, I'm thrilled you loved it, dear, and it really does sound like something I'd pick up when I'm in the mood for it! :)

  9. I haven't read anything by this author but really need to because I've heard brilliant things and this does sound really good.

I really hate typos, too, because I'm OCD when it comes to writing!

  12. Great review, Jen! I completely agree with you about Avery. I liked this book overall, though I did think it could have been better. Still, it was very addictive... and I guess I expect no less from Jennifer L. Armentrout. How many publishing houses has she sold books to now? It's crazy! ;)
