Alfie the Sniffer Pup is a monthly feature here on A Reading Daydreamer where I spotlight exciting upcoming releases and book-ish news which my pup, Alfie has kindly 'sniffed' out for me! For those who may have noticed, I was too busy to write an Alfie the Sniffer Pup for June so I hope you enjoy this July edition. Please note that the books mentioned are released this month in the UK, although I do believe that some have the same release dates as in the US.
I've decided to re-format how I write these posts so instead of including the summaries of each book, you have to click on the cover and it will link you to its Goodreads page. This allows me to feature more books while still keeping the post short. Enjoy!

There are so many A-MAZING books coming out this month, adding to my excitement of summer! I'm currently reading Between the Lines, it hasn't lived up to my high expectations but I am still really enjoying it. I am desperate to get my hands on Tiger Lily (I ADORE the title!) due to the glowing reviews on it and same with Such a Rush, which has also been given a lot of praise. I've fallen in love with the cover for Whisper - it's so pretty and has a sense of fragility to it - and the one for Dark Companion is also gorgeous too! There are few contemporaries coming out as well which look promising: Don't You Wish and The Thing About the Truth, and Perfect Escape is meant to be a deep, meaningful read.

Heard good things about Such a Rush as well, Blood Moon by Alyxandra Harvey also comes out this month and I'm so excited to start that!! A Witch in Love was fantastic, and Pushing the Limits, which also comes out this month, was also really good

I got Something Strange and Deadly from Edelweiss the other day and I'm giving it away in a giveaway tomorrow *hint hint* But Hemlock (which I think is Deadly Hemlock) was a really good read and I really want Such a Rush! It sounds amazing!

I'm really looking forward to reading Tiger Lily and Team Human. Both sound fantastic! Whisper has gotten some great reviews on Goodreads so I will have to check that out too. It looks like there are some great July releases to look forward to! :)

ReplyDeleteEvery time I see Alfie, I want to squeal at his adorableness -- you and him are just TOO CUTE FOR WORDS! <3 I missed him last month, but I totally understand with your exams and everything. I think the one I'm looking forward to most right now is Such a Rush just because I've heard only amazing things about it from friends so far, and I LOVE books with twins in them! Plus, the main character is a pilot -- how cool is that? x)

ReplyDeleteI think you're going to love several of these books. TIGER LILY was amazing, and a great addition to Peter Pan mythos. DEADLY HEMLOCK (just HEMLOCK) to me is one of my top 2 favorite books so far this year. SOMETHING STRANGE AND DEADLY is a really fun, spirited read. And TEAM HUMAN is fabulously funny and a great spoof of vamp-y novels.
I really want to read SUCH A RUSH. A friend of mine has already read it and really enjoyed it!
You work so hard on all these posts...I really want to read Deadly Hemlock, Team Human and Dark Companion. I'm sure most of the other books on this list are great too.

Normally I try to steer clear of books that I know will feature love triangles, but I can't pass up Such A Rush, it sounds too good:) I really enjoyed Team Human - it was a quick, entertaining read that poked fun at itself a bit and I always like books that do that:) Good sniffing Alfie!

Wow what a haul Beverly! I just read an excellent review from Jenny on Team Human so I'd like to read that. I hope you like Such a Rush as much as I did. I keep seeing Tiger Lily all over the place but I've never read the blurb. Guess I should seeing that so many people want to read it.
